He has participated in several local and international seminars, workshops, and training courses especially in credit risk management, trade finance and management development. Mr. Conteh is also a regular resource person for both local and international training on risk management practices and procedures. He entered the bank with a BSc Honours degree in Economics with Accounting bias from Fourah Bay College and in four years time he was able to bag his ACCA from the United Kingdom. He later became a Fellow of the ACCA (FCCA) in 2005 and in the same year completed a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Oxford Brookes University, UK. Given his quest for higher academic achievement, Mr. Conteh recently gained admission into Walden University, USA, to pursue a PhD degree in Applied Management & Decision Sciences, specializing in Finance.
A very senior official of the SLCB commented on Mr. Conteh’s promotion thus- “his penchant for continuous and sustainable self-enhancement and experience gained in general banking operations has earned him the ability to demonstrate the requisite leadership qualities and dexterity to satisfactorily discharge the duties attached to high offices.”Mr. Patrick Saidu Conteh will assist the Banking Guru- Managing Director, Mr. C.B. Deigh to roll out the bank’s ensuing 5-year corporate plan whilst providing strategic oversight of the day-to-day operations of the bank. The SLCB is systematically rolling-out its strategy of repositioning and consolidation given its enviable position as the leading financial services provider. The Sierra Leone Commercial Bank is the foremost indigenous bank in the country and has contributed greatly to the nation’s development since its establishment in 1973.
