On Saturday April 26th, Sierra Leone celebrates its 47th year of independence in style, with a night to remember at the stunning Troxy venue in trendy Limehouse, London.

After more than 150 years of British colonial rule, Sierra Leone gained its independence in 1961, and what better way to celebrate its birthday than with a star-studded gala dinner, featuring the best of the country’s music, food and fashion.

The Troxy, on Commercial Road in London, is an outstanding 1930’s grade II listed art deco building, and its stylish décor is expected to welcome up to 1500 movers and shakers from every part of Sierra Leonean society, for the country’s event of the year.

Music from its top musicians will be complemented by cuisine produced by Sierra Leone’s foremost chefs; there will also be a fashion parade featuring the country’s finest haute couture.

All in all, it promises to be a memorable event – and one definitely not to be missed; if you want to meet anyone who is anyone in the Sierra Leonean community in London, while sampling the many delights the country has to offer, then you need to be there.

Tickets start at £35, include two free drinks, buffet and a goody bag; doors open

at 9.00pm
