Yes! The God Of Suffering
RELIGION > What The Bible Say
Posted by Reverend Kemoh Sulaiman on May 20, 2008, 00:06

The article asking the question, “The God of suffering?” is a good example of classical theodicy. For the purpose of clarity, theodicy is trying to explain the goodness and power of God in the midst of evil and suffering. The writer carefully balanced God’s  attributes,  with the existence of suffering and evil.   Questioning the goodness of God in the midst of suffering and pain, is nothing new in the world.

The God of Suffering?

Do we live in a world that was created by a God who is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all good? Christians think we do. Yet a powerful reason for doubting this confronts us every day: the world contains a vast amount of pain and suffering. If God is all-knowing, he knows how much suffering there is. If he is all-powerful, he could have

Why Are Muslims Fighting Each Another?
RELIGION > What the Koran Say

No doubt Prophet Muhammad will be weeping in his grave when he comes to the realization about the manner in which Muslims have been tearing one another apart. Wherever one looks one can either sees or hears Muslims fighting or throwing dust in one another’s eyes. From the Middle East to Africa, Shiites fight Sunnis vis- a-viz all in the name of Islam. What is however sad is when one sees Muslim pundits fighting their colleagues for Imamate or other Islamic titles. Interestingly, Sierra Leone is not left out in this quagmire as she too has joined the line of fighters for Muslim positions.

I am aware that some people will hear the question and say how you dare ask such a question.  I dare ask such a question because unless we can identify our God, we will continue to worship false gods and idols.  We will continue to be confounded without some common understanding of the God we believe.  How can we describe the unique attributes of the God of Sierra Leone?

It is a common complaint among some non-Muslims that Islam would not have millions of adherents all over the World, if it had not been spread by the use force. The following points will make it clear that it was the inherent force of truth, reason and logic that was responsible for the rapid spread of Islam.Islam comes from the root word salaam, which means peace. It also means submitting ones will to ALLAH. Thus Islam is a religion of peace, which is a acquired by submitting ones will to the will of the Supreme Creator, ALLAH.

Christian children and family life

It is very important to raise children up in Christian homes because it is God’s commandment as stated in Genesis 1:28, “… And God said to them, be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it…”We have seen that having children is one of the purposes of marriage, and it is astonishing how lightly many esteem this wonderful privilege.Paul treats family life as the normal one; “I will therefore pray that the young women marry, bear children, guide the home and give no occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully,” 1 Timothy 5:14.

Not many days after Jesus had gone into heaven, we read about Peter in the Temple in Jerusalem, speaking boldly to the Jews who were responsible for crucifying Jesus. In Acts 3:19-20 he says to them; “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the time of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you”.
