President Koroma Leads Sierra Leone’s Delegation to AU Summit

The President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma led Sierra Leone’s delegation to the 14th Ordinary Session Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union currently taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
President Koroma who also doubles as the Vice Chairman of the Commission arrived in Ethiopia on Saturday 30th January 2010 from Freetown to join his colleague Heads of State to discuss pertinent issues in the Continent.
The President’s delegation included: Hon. Mrs. Zainab Hawa Bangura-Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Alpha Kanu- Minister of Mineral Resources and Political Affairs, Hon. Dr. Minkailu Bah - Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Saidata Sesay-Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Mr. Rupert Davies, Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to Sierra Leone’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, Hon. Ibrahim Sorie- Chief Information and Communications Paritry, Mr. Sahr Tumoe Commissioner, National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM), Mr. Mohamed Alie Bah Acting Director of Communication in the Ministry of Information and Communications, Mr. Gibril Sesay- Adviser to the President, Mr. Alusine Sesay-State Chief of Protocol, Mr. Brian Gilpin-Personal Assistant to the President, Mr. Abu Bakarr Fullah-ADC to the President, Mr. Ibrahim Sesay-Personal Security to the President, Mrs. Razia Bash Kamara and Mr. Claudius Beckley-Producer and Cameraman from the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Service respectively.
The Summit, which is holding at the United Nations Conference Centre in Addis Ababa commenced on 31st January, will end on 2nd February 2010.
This year’s AU Summit is themed: ‘Information and Communication Technologies in Africa: Challenges and Prospects for Development.’
The meeting is being attended by the staff of Sierra Leone’s Embassy in Addis Ababa namely: His Excellency Andrew Bangali, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Permanent Representative (PR) to the African Union and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa; Mr. Amadu Koroma, Sierra Leone’s Deputy Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Mr. Christopher Bockarie, Second Secretary at the Sierra Leone Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
