FBC Lecturers in Sex-For-Grades Scandal
Posted by Mustapha Sesay on Jul 20, 2009, 15:10

The Head of the Attitudinal and Behavioral Change Programme, Mr. Philip Conteh on Friday disclosed that a group of  reckless and undeserving lecturers at the University of Sierra Leone precisely Fourah Bay College are seriously engaged in the selling of grades to female students for favour.

Mr. Conteh made this stalking revelation when called upon by the Senate and Court of the University of Sierra Leone to make a presentation on the topic Attitudinal Change for National Development: Implication for practices in the University of Sierra Leone.

The Director lamented at the plight of grade A+ students suffering at the hands of this reckless group who are bent on destroying the glory of the University as the Athens of West Africa for their selfish purposes and called on the college authorities to go all out to flush them out of the system so as to move forward and meet with the global challenges.

Mr. Conteh stressed that the University should be seen as a place for reformation where morals should be copied for the development of the nation and a place to be used by a  group for vices as the future of the nation will be bleak and generations yet on born will hold us accountable for our deeds.

He further stressed that as part of President Koroma’s vision to change our attitudes towards work and in our every day life, everything must be done towards this drive and put national  interest above selfish interest.

Similar sentiments were expressed by student representatives from both IPAM and FBC who cited similar cases suffered in the hands of some lecturers when they are in crises.

Mr. Conteh also commended hard working lecturers and students to keep this pace so that the nation will move forward
