When the Messenger Becomes Powerful Than his Boss.....The Sullay Daramy Factor at State House
Posted by Joe Sawan on Apr 15, 2008, 21:11

Events unfolding at State House are pointing towards the total disintegration of the state-machinery under the leadership of President Ernest Bai Koroma, if not quickly handled by the president for sanity and respectability to be restored to the country’s seat of governance. Very ugly developments are reportedly taking place at State House with black magic effectively utilized by some close employees to the president. These developments are not meant for the good of the nation but for achievement their diabolical objectives. Reportedly, the plan is to transform President Ernest Bai Koroma and make him appear like the late Joseph Saidu Momoh who during his tenure in office miserably failed this nation.

Certain individuals pretending to be working in the interest of the state and the president, and performing the role of protocol officers and Aids are reportedly engaged in diverse activities. The Presidential office at State House has always been a controversial entity, with everyone trying to penetrate the occupant for his/ her personal achievements and during the process so many manipulations take place. The services of black magicians, under world operations and many other things are usually employed. Sadly, the current situation is not different from what used to take place with past presidents and national leaders occupying the Presidential office. Sooner or later, the prediction is that loyal supporters of the current President, especially those who suffered and made a lot of sacrifices to his success story would begin to take their exit, leaving those with self seeking ambition and their black magic manipulations. The change in protocols, demanding that Deputy Ministers are no longer allowed to see the President Koroma unless they have the blessing of his Protocol Officer, Mr. Sullay Daramy is sending strange messages to members of the APC and friends of the President. The interpretation of these new and incredible developments is that the protocol officer (Mr. Sullay Daramy) is now becoming politically powerful, probably than the president himself and his APC led government.

The publication by the New Vision Newspaper yesterday confirming the new protocol dimension was not only received with mixed feelings, but gives an insight of the powers of black magic in the African settings. Many employees at State House, especially those who know the level that Sullay Daramy can go whenever he wants to achieve his objective are wondering as to what would be the fate of President Koroma, whom they have described as being hypnotized by Sullay Daramy. The transfer from the Presidential Lodge to State House and his continued existence there has raised several questions among loyalists of the President as to the type of covenant or bond signed between the current and ex-president Kabbah on behalf of Sullay Daramy the “super beneficiary” who is  invested with so much power at State House.

Though, some insiders are linking his past relationship with the Koroma family, others are disputing it, stating he was a disappointment to them. They cited an event that during the 2007 electioneering campaign, Sullay Daramy who stood out boldly and told President Koroma to his face that he would never rule Sierra Leone. Perhaps, those he consulted at the time misled him and only revealed to his earnings what would make him feel assured and confident. It is over six months now since he assumed office as President of the Republic of Sierra Leone and has deliberately refused to replace Sullay Daramy advancing very flimsy excuse to the curious minds. Those who truly know him in the SLPP circle when he was protocol officer to ex-president Kabbah are making mockery of President Koroma’s decision to have maintained him with close proximity.  The issue is hotly debated in various quarters, with some critical minds describing him as a treacherous fellow whose loyalty is tied to his former party and master and not the state or his present boss. Others are saying that it now too late or costly for the President to replace him, as Mr. Daramy is privy to many secrets about the President, which he is making available to the other side without his current boss knowing about it. Mr. Daramy was quoted in certain top political quarter, saying that he is aufait with personal information about his boss that would make him afraid to think of a replacement. “We have traveled far and wide and I know what I know” He bragged to SLPP source. What? If this is true, as the source alleged, president Koroma is in big dilemma, unable to wriggle himself out of his creation. Reports alleged that Sullay Daramy still reports to his former boss, ex-president Kabbah on a daily basis about events that are taking place at State House. Even when abroad, Daramy would telephone  his former master.
